Overview
On November, 28th 1979, Air New Zealand Flight 901 departed from Auckland with 257 people on board. The flight had a tragic end when it crashed into Mount Erebus, Antarctica, killing everyone. The crash was one of the worst in New Zealand's aviation history. The impact on New Zealand society was immense, with memorials erected all over the country. Two different inquiries were carried out, which lead to a lot of controversies surrounding who/what was to blame for the crash.
